“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John. 14:27.

A group of academics and historians has compiled global statistics about wars in the world: Since 3600 B.C., the world has known only 292 years of peace! During this period there have been 14,351 wars large and small, in which 3.64 billion people have been killed. It's estimated that the value of the properties destroyed is equal to a golden belt around the world 97.2 miles wide and 33 feet thick. More so, since 650 B.C., there have also been 1,656 arms races, only 16 of which have not ended in war. The remainder ended in the economic collapse of the countries involved. By the way an arms race is a competition between two or more countries, to build up their military capabilities, often through the acquisition of more and more advanced weapons.

It's often said, "If you want peace, prepare for war" this  suggests that a strong military and readiness for conflict can deter potential aggressors, thus promoting peace. This means a nation or entity should be prepared to defend itself, making it less vulnerable to attack and potentially avoiding war altogether. Well this statement has the resemblance of truth which should not be shoved aside. However, there's the peace of God that suppersses human understanding. This peace is not conditional or circumstantial, it comes with being with the true and accurate knowledge of God's word.

Finding peace in daily interactions involves cultivating internal calmness, that is not being worried. Practicing mindfulness, that is the practice of being fully present in the moment, without judgment. It allows us to observe our thoughts and emotions without getting caught up in them.and choosing to respond with compassion and understanding in challenging situations. It also means prioritizing self-care and setting healthy boundaries. Living in an unpeaceful world can take a toll on our mental health. The constant stress, negativity, and chaos can leave us feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from our inner peace. However, it is possible to find peace within ourselves, even amidst the chaos.
